07 Sep ITS World Congress Detroit
Last Sunday began with a 12 hour drive from Atlanta to Detroit for the 2014 ITS World Congress at the Detroit Cobo Center where thousands gathered from across the intelligent transport system industry. Included, were public agencies, private sector companies, and academic and research institutions from all over the world working with transportation. These groups are all connected by a common goal: working in the present and preparing for the future of moving people and goods throughout the world.
The event began with registration on September 7th and concluded the 11th. General Motors CEO Mary Barra delivered the keynote address followed by remarks from Ford Motor Company Executive Chairman Bill Ford and Verizon Communications Chairman and CEO Lowell McAdam who were all generous sponsors towards the event. The conference was full of sessions, networking events, and a grand exhibitor hall where companies could show off their products and solutions. MetroTech participated in the Entrepreneurial Village along with around 12 other companies where we had a booth for handouts, demos, and networking. If you are interested or work within the ITS industry and are located in the US, I highly suggest you book your ticket for next year’s ITS America showcase in Pittsburgh.
